Albion and Irma
William Albion Dunn originally from Scotland Neck was a leading local attorney and Mayor of Greenville in the early 1900's. He presided over the city during a time of growth and expansion including natural gas lines and paving of streets expanding out from the downtown core. As a cost saving measure for the city, he also served as city attorney during this time. He was also a founding member of the Greenville Country Club and active in the NC Bar Association. Irma Cobb Dunn was from the prominent Cobb family of Greenville. Irma is pictured in the now iconic groundbreaking photo of East Carolina Teacher's Training School which eventually became East Carolina University.
