First Floor
The first floor of course contains the formal rooms of the house as well as some service rooms.
Upon entering the house, you are in a small vestibule which opens into the gentlemen's parlor. The room has a large tiled fireplace on the west wall and large windows on the front wall. At the rear of the Gentlemen's Parlor is the massive oak staircase leading to the second floor. Beyond this room is the modern day kitchen which was originally an informal sitting room. This room has another tiled fireplace with a substantial mantle and a large bay window. On your left as you enter the front door is the Lady's Parlor, this room mirrors the gent's parlor but is smaller. There is a tiled fireplace in this room with a large mantel and large windows mirroring those in the Gent's parlor. To the left of the Lady's Parlor is a large secondary kitchen that was originally a porch. Beyond the parlor is the formal dining room. Along with the Gent's parlor this is one of the largest rooms in the house at 15 by 20. The dining room has the typical large 3-part Craftsmal Style window assemblage and originally had a large fireplace which has since been bricked in. Going further into the house from the Dining room you find a full bath (original butler's pantry) and finally the Den (original kitchen) at the rear of the house. From the Den you can move into the rear of the main hallway. From the Hall you can access the utility room at the far rear of the house, another half bath and all of the first floor rooms.
